Juan Monaco won a tournament in Buenos Aires, earlier this year, on his beloved clay.
However, his form on the faster surfaces, leaves a lot to be desired. He is 6-20 on hard courts in the past two years and lost in the first round of his last 3 tournaments.
Today he faces Dutchman, Robin Haase, who is not yet 20 yo. The very tall youngster has shown some potential on faster courts and pre-qualified here, beating Sanguinetti and Sela, in straight sets.
Not sure that Monaco should be favourite, so I am happy to side with Haase, at a big looking price.
3.5 points Haase 2.33 to beat Monaco,Pinnacle Sports. RESULT 4-6 4-6 -3.5 points
