The weather forecast is very bad here and the tee times have been brought forward, meaning that they are playing in 3 and not the normal final day, two balls, which is a shame. However, I still think that we have several very nice bets for today's action.
DAVIS LOVE III - PETER LONARD
It may seem strange to be backing DL3 , after opposing him yesterday, but as I indicated then, he does play the course well and his final round scoring record, ranking 42-83-31 in the last 3 years, is pretty good, for someone struggling with their game. It certainly compares favourable with Lonard's 108-191-165 over the same period. I will take DL3 in the straight match up, but if that is not available to you, the 3 ball odds, which also include Tim Clark (170-138-104) are very nice @ 2.75 across the board.
4.5 points Davis Love III to beat Lonard 1.877 Pinnacle OR 2.75 to win the 3 ball.
OUTRIGHT WITHOUT WOODS AND SABBATINI and top 5.
Stan James have a market without the front two who sit at -3 and -4 respectively, 4 strokes clear of Kenny Perry, who is in turn, a further two ahead of a host of players on +1. We can expect other bookmakers to quote this market later in the day.
Tiger will be up for this (obviously) and will be keen to put Sabbatini in his place, Rory being quite outspoken about the way other pros viewed Tiger, nothing bad, just that they showed him too much respect and that he was not as good as they made out.
Many of the chasing pack, Baddeley, Appleby, DiMarco, Verplank, Durant, Rose etc have very poor R4 records and there is a little value, to my eyes in Andres Romero. The young Argentine player really made his mark at the Open with a strong finish and is driving like a dream, if he sink a few putts today, he could close on the top 2. Perry is a worthy favourite in this market, but a prohibitive price.
1.5 points each way Romero 12.0 1/4 odds 123 Stan James.
2 points Romero 3.05 Top 5 Betfair.
