Davydenko looks in good shape and has yet to drop a set, or even be taken to a tie break, but that could be set to change today.
Tommy Haas has had a much tougher ride, going to a 5th set in each of his last two wins and playing 18 sets, compared to the 12 of his Russian opponent. Sometimes he seems to lack motivation, but Haas is world class on his day and once he gets into a tournament, is hard to kill off.
Davydenko knows this already, their two hardcourt meetings having gone the distance. He won their battle here at the same stage last year and Haas took the spoils in Australia, at the beginning of the year.
Unless one of these retires ( in which case we have stakes refunded) I cannot see this being quick and like the "over" games.
"Over" 40.5 games 1.943 Pinnacle.
Good Luck.
