HSBC WORLD MATCH PLAY GOLF SEMI-FINALS ....

ANGEL CABRERA - HUNTER MAHAN
ERNIE ELS - HENRIK STENSON

I favour Cabrera in the top match, but think the odds are just about right.

Ernie Els has milked this tournament with six previous wins, it is played on a course where he lives and where he has helped with the redesign. However, there is little doubt that his game is not what it was and in Stenson, he will meet a player who produced some fantastic golf on Friday. In beating Anders Hansen 7&5, he shot 12 birdies and just one bogey, which compares very favourably with Ernie's 10 birdies and five bogies.

Stenson looked fit and hungry after a disappointing 2007 and has the experienced Fanny Sunesson carrying his bag, she knows Wentworth almost as well as Els, after a decade with another course specialist, Nick Faldo. Hansen was impressed by his opponent and said "he was awesome" and "it's tough when you have to make a hole-in-one to win a hole !" Els has a ticket for the Rugby World Cup final on Sunday night and maybe, at this stage of his career, golf is not the only thing in his life.

4.5 points Stenson to beat Els 2.60 exchanges.

Good Luck.
