On what, at first glance, appears a tired old Thursday, I am looking at 4 bets, the first of which kicks off this morning in Monte Carlo.
I am siding with the ultra consistent Spaniard Tommy Robredo, who made just 12 unforced errors in his win yesyerday, to see off Tomas Berdych.
The Czech player is supremely talented, but is happier on a hard court, has a poorish record here and to say that consistency is not his strong point, would be an understatement of biblical proportions.
Robredo who moves well and is defending quarter final points here, seems very relaxed, he is writing the ATP blog this week and appears to be having fun. He is exactly the type of player that Berdych loses to and today should be no different. So much of sport is played "between the ears" and a happy frame of mind, is often half the battle, player websites, interviews and blogs, are all excellent ways to find out what sort of mood your selection is in.
4 points Robredo to beat Berdych 1.72 Pinnacle / Bet 365 , similar odds, even allowing for commission, should be available on the exchanges.
Back later.
