GUINCAMP - STRASBOURG

I expect this Ligue 2 encounter to be a very tight affair, neither can really afford to lose and would probably settle for a point, here and now.

Strasbourg coach, two time French footballer of the year, Jean-Pierre Papin, has hinted that a point, that would take his side level with Le Havre, in the 3rd and final promotion spot, would be acceptable. For such a renown striker, he is happy to adopt a safety first approach, especially on the road, where they have collected far fewer points than their main rivals.

Guincamp lost 2-0 at Le Havre last week, a defeat which ended a 5 march unbeaten run (4 draws) and took them into the bottom 3. A single point tonight will take them back above Istres, giving them a little breathing space, they have a series of "six pointers" coming up in the coming weeks and will probably have top striker, David Suarez, who is missing tonight, back for those. In the meantime, safety first, looks to be the order of the day.

The draw, which I believe, is top priced at 2.90 with William Hill, would be my 90 minute selection, but is not my suggested wager.

The hosts have yet to lead at half time in 10 matches at the Roudourou Stadium and last season, went in level at the break in 13 of 19 starts. Given the vital nature of the fixture and what we suspect the visitors approach will be, my confident choice is the 45 minute draw.

It is available at 2.10 for small stakes on the exchanges, I feel this is an excellent price, there is also plenty at 2.02 + , which is perfectly acceptable.

4 points Guincamp-Strasbourg half time draw 2.10 ( 2.02 +) Betfair.

Good Luck.
