RAYO VALLECANO - SEVILLE

Rayo have fallen on hard times in recent years, boasting a UEFA Cup quarter final as recently as 2001, successive relegations followed and have left them toiling in the third tier of Spanish football.

A situation not made any easing by living in the shadow of their famous Madrid neighbour's. It must be tough for a football fan from the Spanish capital to explain that he is a Vallecano supporter. Bit like growing up in London and following Brentford ..... oops !

However, brighter times look on the horizon, they currently lead Segunda B by 2 points, having tasted defeat only twice in 18 starts. They look to be on their way back "up the ladder".

No doubt their tiny Teresa Rivero stadium, will be packed to the rafters tonight for the visit of Seville. La Liga's top club are fielding their "B" team and are giving the Cup very low priority, as indeed, do most of Spain's leading lights.

With the match being played over two legs, a narrow defeat would not be the end of the road, for the visitors and I see a lot of value in the (still) huge odds on offer, about the home team.

Rayo knocked out Espanyol in the previous round and are hoping for a bigger scalp tonight, think that little man in Madrid might be going to work with a spring in his step tomorrow.

4 points Vallecano +1 ball asian line 1.80 exchanges.

1/2 point Vallecano -1/2 ball 7.40 exchanges.

Good Luck.
