This might be just a friendly, but it is a very important game for Slovenia.
This will be the first match with new coach, Matjaz Kek in charge, he has made it his priority, to rebuild confidence and team spirit, which was very low. His first course of action was to introduce several talented youngsters into the squad, dropping some of the older more "cynical" players and is looking to play an attractive and open style, opting to start with an attacking 4-3-3 system tonight.
The mood in training has been very good and admission is free at the Domzale Stadium, ensuring a capacity crowd and great atmosphere. Nearly said it was a sold out, but as tickets were free ........... you get the point.
Opponents Estonia arrive without 3 key players and on the back of a 4-0 thumping by Poland at the weekend, I believe the Polish side only contained "home based" players, so this was a very poor defeat.
Kek could hardly have wished for an easier start, at least on paper and will not want to waste the "feel good" factor built up this week, by failure to claim the win.
4 points Slovenia -1/2 ball 1.63 Betfair.
Back shortly.
Good Luck.
