Ligue 2 one of our main leagues starts next Friday and the English Football League season starts in earnest
the next day, this time next week we will all be very nervous and excited and everyone can enter the new campaign with high hopes, even if it might only take 90 minutes for reality to set back in for some !
I have posted a couple of updates over on the clubgowi website, including one preview for tonight's MLS football. I sent subscribers seven previews today, four from the MLS and two from Brazil, plaus a few words about one of this afternoon's friendly matches.
The next couple of months are going to be manic with our three main "Summer" leagues, MLS, Brazil and J-League all running alongside European football until the end of the year.
The subscriber rates have been increased from today, if you have been debating joining and feel hard done by to have missed out on a bargain, if you contact me at gowi8@btinternet.com in the next 24 hours and I will tell you how to sign up at old rates.
Her are a few snippets from today's notes ....
Toronto FC have kept just two clean sheets in 35 starts and have not won here at BMO Field in 374 days, their sole home win in the last year coming at Rogers Centre.
Sporting KC are without Matt Besler ( 15-0-1) and the situation is severely
compounded with the suspension to his centre back partner in Aurélien
Collin (19-3-2), the last time SKC started a match without either was,
well never, since Collin joined in early 2011, one or other has always
played, usually both.
NYRB: Espindola with be ultra motivated with Red Bulls signing former
Brentford player Bradley Wright-Phillips this week, the Bees did not
make any effort to take him on a permanent deal, but he shoud do well in
the MLS and will certainly provide competition for starting places.
No clean sheets in ten starts in
all competitions for Chicago Fire , eleven in the MLS, five times conceding two or more .
Vasco da Gama got their first win for new coach Dorival Junior, a shock 3-1 win
at Fluminense, with Juninho Pernambucano ( yes, that Juninho) scoring a
goal and assist on his (third) debut for the club where he made his
name.
Good Luck.

MLS : Toronto Fc - New York Red Bulls betting preview
Toronto FC - New York Red Bulls
We opposed Toronto in midweek for their trip to Chivas, ahead of which I wrote ...The hosts (Chivas) have not won in 14 starts, which is just one shy of the club record and now is the time to draw a line in the sand. They will be buoyed by their record against TFC having won the last five meetings, by a combined 12-1 scoreline. The visitors have just as dismal a record as Chivas and whilst their current streak without a win "only" stands at four, they have won just twice in 31 starts. They will be without two suspended players in young centre back Doneil Henry (7-0-1) and midfielder Reggie Lambe (16-0-0). Whilst they will not want to lose a match many see as the battle of the two worst teams in the MLS, they might have one eye on two home fixtures next week and I feel Chivas are slowly turning the corner and have performed the better of these two over the last month.
TFC lost 1-0 and the fact that Chivas played for circa 70 minutes with ten men and still found a late winner, must have been soul destroying for the Canadian side, who have now won just twice in 32 outings. I think they will be up against it tonight again, to play in LA on Wednesday and Toronto on Saturday is very tough, whilst not quite coast to coast, it is still well over 2,000 miles and across three time zones. They had been in Kansas just four days previously and that is a gruelling week, especially when you have not scored and conceded four goals and an already low confidence level must be close to being completely shot.
The scheduler has been FAR kinder to NYRB, who have only left the East once in the last two months and who will be well rested since thumping Montreal Impact 4-0 last weekend, when Thierry Henry scored his first goal in seven weeks and also assisted for two others, one for Tim Cahill who had a similar dry spell. Since we last discussed Red Bulls, absolute key and lightning quick central defender Jámison Olave has also returned to the starting line up and things suddenly look on the up for them, three points would take them top of the East, at least until Sporting play later in the evening and that is a big incentive. The pair have already met here in Toronto this season, Red Bulls edged it 2-1, Cahill scored both, the winner provided by Henry. NY have not lost in four visits, or eight straight ( six wins) over TFC. The visitors did play a home friendly with Lyon on Tuesday and the 2-2 draw will have pleased them , but most of their key players only saw 30-45 minutes of action and TH sat it out completely, so it was little more than a mini training session. That schedule gets tougher for NY after tonight and they are very keen on the points, they will also welcome getting out of the city, the Big apple has been sweletering and some 10-12 degrees cooler in Toronto will not only be a relief, but should increase energy levels further, although Red Bulls should already have an advantage in that regard. 1.5 units New York Red Bulls -0.25 ball 2.04 asian line/Ibramarket.
Good Luck.

Seasons Clash ....
The summer European football break has gone incredibly quickly and it is hard to believe that the English
Football League, French Ligue 2 and SPL all start two weeks on Friday and we are only halfway through J-League, MLS and only 7 rounds into Brazilian football, our three main summer leagues, that is an awful lot of football for us to cover over the next 4-5 months.
There will be some extra content on the English football this season and more pre match "in running" options given in general on the newsletter service,I will explain more about that over the coming weeks.
From a personal betting point of view 2013 has been OK for me, I banked some big wins on Cardiff City and Sabine Lisicki, decent returns on Watford and Brentford (ew and hedging on both), but each of those had two chances ( the Bees also a last minute penalty) to clinch the motherload and the San Francisco 49ers were 8 yards and 4 plays ( all of which were bad calls IMO) from another massive win, so it was also a case of what might have been. Likewise, Benfica in the Europa League.... I almost forgot them ! It could/should easily have been another 50-80 points of profit.
I do not put up many of these long term bets and when I do, I have usually been thinking/working on them for many weeks and they are worthwhile following, so please give them extra consideration. We have the first of these scheduled for Friday afternoon and I am sure it/they will provide us with similarly exciting times this season.
How to join in the fun ?
Good Luck.

Saturday update.......
Not many blog updates recently, but I have been in good form, in addition to the 25-1 winner at Wimbledon,
which is highlighted on the clubgowi website, I have put up three "very strong" selections (1.75 units) in the last fortnight and all have won at odds of 1.97 (twice) and 2.60.
I am just about to send subscribers today's notes, which include a further two "very strong selections" one at nice odds against, the other around the even money mark and a bet @ odds of 12-1, about which I am very keen/confident.
Many of you will know my incredible record with these big odds selections from the last football season and if you do not want to miss out on these, not just today, but in the future, I suggest you seriously consider taking out a clubgowi subscription, details are on this link. Subscription rates are set to rise from August 1st, so further incentive to act quickly.
