..... we try and recover our Brentford losses tonight ........... the groans can be heard all across Europe.
The Bees are unbeaten, but at the risk of sounding like a broken record, they have only impressed in one start.
These are quotes taken from one of the main supporters forums, after Saturday's 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient, where again, they were outplayed......
The lack of cohesion and shape of the team stood out yesterday.Passing and movement off the ball was non-existent and the support from midfield for the front two of Kuffour and Willock, just didn't happen. We were slow at the back through the middle, even against two old-fashioned lumbering centre forwards, but mention has to be given to Griffiths, who's positioning and awarness was comendable. Up front ,the two strikers did not play off each other, Alex Rhodes isn't right at the moment, and Brooker only ever seems to wake up to his job,in the last 20 mins of every game.Tillen only kicked the ball once, albeit a good kick and Osborne, although having stacks of potential, is still a novice, and looked awkward coming forward.
We desperately need a holding midfielder and someone who can slow the game down. we constantly play ourselves into trouble but amazingly we are still unbeaten!
I wouldn't have argued with a loss by two or three goals yesterday
We just don't have a striker who can hold the ball up front, our left wing is looking really poor, and our defence can look immobile. We are going to get beaten at some point soon.
Views from four different, fervent supporters.
Tonight they face Swansea City, who knocked Brentford out of the playoffs last season and who are coming off their best home performance of the season, at the weekend.
The Swansea skipper, Darren Pratley, was a "Bee" for the past two seasons, would have said that he will be able to pass on plenty of information, but he probably doesn't know any of the players, despite leaving only 4 months ago. Maybe some of the younger players have cleaned his boots. Guess he will be "fired up" tonight.
Stats tell the real story I am afraid, in the 7 league games to date, Brentford have collected two more points, than the Swans. However, the Welsh club have had 102 attempts on goal, the division high, as is their "shots on target" figure of 58, compared to the Londoners totals of 68 and 25, the latter being the divisional low.
This means the visitors are averaging almost 5 attempts more per game and those 5 are all on target, if that makes sense.
Brentford are without Frampton and Skulason, the Icelandic international, both are very key players, see a draw the best the Bees can achieve. Swansea +1/4 ball looks something to get stuck into. Win or lose, this is a good bet.
5 points Swansea +1/4 ball asian line 1.80.
Good Luck.
