ALFRED DUNHILL CHAMPIONSHIP GOLF ...
... starts bright and early tomorrow morning, at the Leopard Creek GC, Mpumalanga, South Africa and will be covered live by Sky Sports.
The field lacks strength in depth and outside the top 3 of Els, Schwartzel and Westwood, we are left with a group of players, who would struggle to get recognised in their own homes.
My selection is going to be the 22 yo Charl Schwartzel, who is a golfer of almost unlimited potential.
He played in the star studded Nedbank Challenge last week, finishing a stroke behind Els in 5th place, 4 strokes and one place in front of Retief Goosen.
One thing is clear, he LOVES this course. On the two occasions this has been the venue for the Alfred Dunhill, he has never been outside the top 2. Winning in 2004 and finishing runner up last year, 3 strokes clear of the 4th placed golfer, he has an eight round stroke average of 69.75.
With so much in his favour and a weakish looking field, Charl simply has to be in contention and looks a cast iron each way investment, where we are paid for five places.
2 points each way Charl Schwartzel 10.0 stan james 1/4 odds 12345.
Back later with more football.
Good Luck.
