TODAY ........

Plenty of International action today, will have the first post online around 12.00 cet.

I mentioned last week that Dinara Safina looked very lacklustre in her loss to Hantuchova. She lost yesterday to Anna Chakvetadze, 1 & 2 in the first round of the Kremlin Cup in Moscow, her hometown tournament. Guess it has been a long season, but Dinara should be avoided at all costs at present.

Another notable result yesterday, Elena Vesnina beat Li Na from 5-0 down in the 3rd, eventually winning 13-11 in the tie break. This is why tennis has the best scoring system, whatever your position, you only have to win the next point ......... and the next.

Just a quick mention of the Nadia Petrova "injury" at 4-4 in the tie break, just as Golovin was really getting into the game. I have not seen the incident myself, but have been told it looked suspicious and Golovin was very unhappy. Surely it would be fairer to forfeit the point/game and then get treatment, if your opponent is serving. It would prevent any gamesmanship.

Back soon.
