This tournament is really finely poised with one of my favourites Steve Stricker leading on -14, by a shot from KJ Choi, with Hunter Mahan and Rich Beem tied on -12, two strokes clear of the field.
This is the first time Stricker has led going into the final round for a decade and his record from the front, is not good, at his current odds, I have to look elsewhere for the winner.
Hunter Mahan is very talented and in wonderful form, finishing 17-13-1-8-6-5-22-18 in his last 8 starts, just once outside the top 20. Now that he has won, I think that number 2 will not be far behind and he is simply oozing confidence.
The only problem is that he shot a 62 yesterday, such low scores are often followed by a poor round, but he has been playing well for so long, that does not necessarily have to be the case today. Putting like a dream it is just hard to see him shooting a poor score and he appeals as the value choice to me.
In the 3 ball betting , I like Anthony Kim, he is a fantastic final round player, averaging under 70 strokes on a Sunday, which ranks him inside the top 10. He is partnered with Garrigus, who's massive hitting is likely to get him in trouble today and Nick O'Hern who is ranked 168 for R4 scoring, over 3 strokes worse per round than Kim.
2.5 points Mahan outright 7.6 + exchanges// 7.0 general quote.
17.46 3 ball 4 points KIM to beat O'Hern and Garrigus 2.62 Ladbrokes// 2.64+ exchanges// 2.50 general. Some of the asian bookmakers have my selection 1.83 to beat O'Hern, with the tie no bet, which is a very nice bet, but only available to a few.
Good Luck.
