THE RACE IS ON ............... CELTIC KEANE TO CLOSE GAP AT THE TOP...........

Rangers dropped two points in midweek and that will have given the green half of Glasgow hope that Celtic can still make a fist of the SPL title race. However, they can ill afford any more slip ups and have little choice but to go all out for three points in every start, which, to be honest, is always the case in every outing for the Old Firm. I have already told you that the new Hoops signings have impressed me, at least going forward, defensively they continue to look fragile and have problems in that area today, but I still expect them to win and win well. One day soon, everything will click for them and they are going to administer an almighty thumping to someone and it could come against any team in the SPL, as despite what the table says, to my eyes they have the best team by far and are only going to get better.

Aberdeen were said to be considering resting players today ahead of their "big" cup replay with Raith Rovers (!) in midweek, that seems hard to believe and even if that were the case, Mark McGhee would have surely had a rethink after the furore these rumours caused. Anyway, they will have one eye on midweek, for a game which has now become a priority in terms of their season, a top six place is also vital, but there are plenty of games to sort that out. In other words I do not expect them to be as hungry ars the visitors today.

Celtic have a terrific record against the Dons, winning on six of their last seven visits North, the last four victories all coming by two or more goals and also winning eight from eight in the reverse meetings in Glasgow, with six clean sheets. This is game likely to provide goals, but I much prefer the visitors even giving up a big handicap start. So Celtic -1 ball 2.0 asian line for me.

Back Later.
