Macclesfield and Hartlepool ........

.... couldn't manage a goal between them on Saturday, but I feel their meeting tonight will produce goals.

Pool were never going to score against Swindon, they battered the goal for 90 minutes and could not find a way through.

Swindon Town goalkeeper, Peter Brezovan, was in awesome form, making a series of miracle saves, including two penalty stops. The woodwork came to his aid twice and he blocked everything else.

Pool coach, Danny Wilson, was left to say " on another day we could have won by 5 or 6 and I just hope we have used up all our bad luck in one afternoon".

At the same time "Field" were losing 4-0 at Darlington. Their coach Brian Horton said that "the defence and midfield performed poorly, but we had more chances in this match than we have had in any away game for a long time, their keeper made 3 unbelievable saves".

That may be true, my understanding of the game was that it could have been 8-3, there were chances galore.

I think by taking the "over", which is attractively priced, we have almost a double chance. We could have an open game with lots of chances for both sides, along the lines of Saturday's performances. Or, Macclesfield could go behind and collapse and Pool could make up for the 17 missed chances, confidence is a fickle thing and once it goes, it is hard to get back.

3 points over 2.5 goals Macclesfield-Hartlepool 2.19 pinnacle sports.

Good Luck.
