The visitors will be without Mali international, Mahamadou Diarra, who finally completed his move to Real Madrid yesterday, for a reported 26m euros. Players come and go at OL , but it seems to make little difference, every year the squad looks a little stronger.
However, they are very unlikely to repeat last years League winning 15 point margin. Infact, defeat today would leave them trailing Bordeaux, last years runner up, by 5 points after just 3 games. That doesn't appear to be on their agenda as French midfielder, Florent Malouda and coach, Gerard Houllier, have publicly guaranteed a result today.
These two clubs seem sure to be involved at the business end of the season, but a visit to the wine region, should hold no fear for the champions. Bordeaux have not beaten Lyon in 15 meetings and only once in 26 starts, their last victory came in 1999 and I do not think that record will improve today.
With Lyon it seems the better the opponent, the stronger they play, I make them my third bet of the day, on the level ball asian handicap.
