Wacker Burghausen ........

......... are a small club, their stadium only holds 8,400 and Bundesliga 2 is giddy heights for them. They have done very well to preserve their status since promotion 4 years ago.

In each of these seasons, they have finished between 8th-10th, free from promotion or relegation worries. You get the impression that this suits them very well, they have a very small squad and limited aspirations.

This year they may not find things so easy, in the last two seasons Burghausen have been the only club in the top half of the table, with a negative goal difference. The Wacker Arena has hardly been a fortress over this period, they have managed just 11 home wins in 34 starts.

Today they entertain Karlsruhe, who are a much bigger club, but recently fell on hard times after their mid 90's high point. They suffered terrible financial problems and slipped from the Bundesliga to 3rd tier football.

However, they managed to get back to level 2 and made significant progress last season, improving by 10 points and scoring 55 goals, a total only beaten by promoted Aachen, they missed out on promotion by only 5 pts.

The squad has been strengthened with the signings of Maik Franz and Massimilian Porcello, both Bundesliga regulars and a promotion challenge seems on the card.

I make them a small favourite tonight and suggest we bet them on the level ball asian line at odds against.

4 points Karlsruhe level ball 2.16 asian line.

Good Luck.
