Going to put a couple of very brief previews on the blog today and will start in the EPL with a look at the West Ham United - Blackburn match, where I expect a white hot atmosphere.
This will be the Hammers first home start since the takeover and three points would give them some breathing space over the bottom three, especially if their games go to form. The hosts have already played the top four on home soil and now have a good run of fixtures at the Boleyn, games which will decide their fate in the top flight . They come into this game fresh, having played just three times in 2010,bouyed by consecutive road points and the return to the squad of Scott Parker and top scorer Carlton Cole, the focus of much of their attacking play.
Rovers will be without key playmaker David Dunn and probably a little drained, having played six games in just 19 days, over the same sequence West Ham have played twice. The visitors are in decent shape and secure, at least for the time being , in mid table, their need today is certainly not as great as for the Irons. However, that will at least allow them to play with freedom and I feel this game might follow type, the fixture has a history of goals and more look in the offering today.
The visitors have just one clean sheet in ten starts, five of their last seven outings have been "over", with an average of 4.14 goals. Hosts are "over" in 10 from 12 home games this season, all have produced at least two goals, with an overall 3.75 average.
I favour a home win, but feel the better value lies with the "over" goal line, as I do expect the visitors to score one and it is never the West Ham way to take the easy route !
6.5 points "over" 2.5 goals 2.02 asian line.
Back later.
