LUCIE SAFAROVA - NADIA PETROVA

The tennis has gone very well this week and we simply have to chance a little on Safarova in the final.

Nadia Petrova came back from the dead, 4-1 down in the 3rd set and a match point in the tie break, to defeat Amelie Mauresmo. However, this may have been a case of two sick players meeting each other, I told you yesterday that there were some rumours about the well being of the Frenchwoman and after the win, Petrova withdrew from her doubles semi-final. She complained of dizziness and said she did not feel 100%.

Safarova must be on cloud nine and is playing out of her skin, the unseeded Czech, has beaten 3 top ten players this week, in Vaidisova, Kuznetsova and yesterday, Justine Henin in straight sets.

H2h is 2-0 in favour of the Russian, both were easy wins but came on US Clay, in the space of a fortnight, last spring. Safarova has come a long way since then and she seems much happier on the faster courts. In WTA finals Safarova is 3-1, Petrova 6-6.

Feel that Petrova has put a lot of pressure on herself in the last two matches, she was DESPERATE to beat Safina in the quarters, who was also carrying a thigh injury. She is the higher ranked player and a very tough competitor, but Safarova has done nothing wrong and there are no concerns about her fitness, at the odds available, there is only one bet to make.

3 points Safarova to beat Petrova 2.40 Betfair. ( feel that 2.30 + is value)

Good Luck.
