NEWCASTLE UNITED - LIVERPOOL

Massive four weeks coming up for Liverpool, with meetings against Manchester United and Barcelona (twice). Think that the American takeover is a good deal for the club, Hicks and Gillett, seem to be in it for the long haul, albeit to ultimately make a profit, anyway, I feel it has given them a boost and work on the new satdium, is due to start almost immediately.

Pool have lost only once in 14 league starts, during which they have kept a fantastic 12 clean sheets. Mohamed Sissoko has returned to the squad and is available for selection today, they are a better team when the tough tackling Malian plays. The Reds will be looking to get back on the winning trail, after the 0-0 draw with Everton, where they dominated play, but could not find the winning strike.

United still have a very long injury list, including Carr, Given, Owen, Ameobi, Emre, N'Zogbia and Moore. They are without a clean sheet in 15 starts, going back to November, have won just twice in 9 and come here on the back of a dismal performance at Fulham last week.

I have to side with the visitors, despite the fact they may have half, of one eye, on the Barcelona game in midweek.

4 points Liverpool -1/2 ball 1.91 general, you may find a little higher in places.

Good Luck.
