AJAX AMSTERDAM-RCD ESPANYOL

Ajax met PSV Eindhoven just 18 days ago, on the back of a run of 11 straight wins, scoring 33 goals, at least 2 in each game.

Obviously, it goes without saying that they entered the match with great confidence and completely dominated the opening half, however, they somehow contrived to lose the game and left the pitch visably shell shocked.

They have paid for this defeat several times over, their four outings since have been a tale of woe, no wins and a player dismissed early, in each of the last two.

This doesn't suddenly make them a poor team, infact, coach Henk ten Cate, looks to be building a very good side indeed, one capable of challenging for major honours.

Ajax simply have to refind their confidence and can do that tonight, with victory over Espanyol in the Amsterdam Arena.

The Spanish side have little to play for and still have an easy looking home group match to come.
Their La Liga future must take precedence and what a difficult run of fixtures they have coming up. Next two homes games see Seville and Real Madrid visiting the Olimpic Stadium, sandwiched between a trip to Atletico Madrid.

I think there is little doubt where their priorities must lie and strongly favour the Dutch side to get their season back on track.

4 points Ajax -1/2 ball asian handicap 1.70.

Good Luck.
