AMELIE MAURESMO- NADIA PETROVA

In the past month amelie has struggled with a right shoulder injury, that has caused her to withdraw from both Zurich and Stuttgart.

During interviews this week, she has freely admitted to being unable to train, or serve, at 100% capacity. The Frenchwoman has played just 15 matches since Wimbledon, having competed in 45 during the first half of 2006.

It is not hard to get the impression that she might have skipped a lesser event, at any other time of the year.

Petrova has finished the season very strongly, following a win in Stuttgart with final appearances in Moscow and Linz, all coming indoors and during October.

This is a round robin tournament, Mauresmo lost her opener in both 2003 and 2005, recovering to reach the final each time and winning the tournament last year. My point is that she is well aware that defeat today, is not the end of the road, so she can afford to nurse her shoulder a little.

However, this will give Petrova a chance to impose herself, slam dowm some of those huge serves, which will be helped by the conditions and claim a major scalp.

4 points Petrova to beat Mauresmo 2.18 betfair.

Good Luck.
