Conspiracy theorists will have a field day here. This is supposed to be payback time, Sociedad having lost to a very late goal at Espanol, on the final day of last season. A win which saved the Catalan side from relegation. Much was said at the time about Real's motivation in the last minutes of that game, when all knew that Alaves were winning and Espanol were staring Segunda in the face.
Of course we will never know the truth, but what we do know is that Real desperately need 3 points today, they are firmly rooted at the foot of La liga and will see this as a chance to get a toehold on safety. I think they have an excellent chance to kick start their season, if they receive any "help", then so much the better.
