FRIDAY ....

Football is a very fickle game and things can change in the blink of an eye. Take Bolton Wanderers, pre season had gone very well, boss Owen Coyle had got several summer targets into the club and managed to fend off the bigger clubs who were targeting Gary Cahill.

Then, in a minor friendly at Newport County last weekend, midfield livewire Lee Chung-yong suffered what is basically a season ending broken leg and five days later one of those new singings, defender Tyrone Mears did likewise in a training incident. Liverpool have now also apparently upped the ante in their hunt for Cahill and suddenly things look very different at the Reebok Stadium.

I am sure that Coyle is not panicking just yet, but am equally sure that despite his team playing their final warm up game and first home start of pre season tonight, when La Liga side Levante come to the North West, that he will be urging caution and mindful that as we all know, these things come in three's !!

Good Luck.
