Robert Karlsson is perfectly placed just three strokes behind leader Colin Montgomerie in the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles.
Somewhere down the line Monty is going to be thinking about how he threw away, yet another US Open last week and feel he is a very skinny price at present. There you go, the words skinny and Montgomerie in the same sentence..... and they said it would never happen. Paul Casey and Thomas Bjorn are the other main contenders and it is hard to see the winner coming from outside this quartet.
Casey and Bjorn are world class players on their day, but always liable to self destruct, they both have problems closing out tournaments. Think we can open our potfolio with a little each way on the Swede, he is in a rich vein of form at present, finishing 5th-14th -1st on his last three starts in Europe. He missed the cut by a mile in the US Open, but that is not his style of golf at all, the generous fairways here play to his strengths. I find it hard to believe he will not be in contention after today's third round and think the odds on offer are generous.
2 points each way Robert Karlsson 10-1 1/5 123 william hill.
Good Luck.
