Serie B playoffs start today .....

........ and the rules strongly favour the team with the higher league placing. Not only do they get to play the second leg at home, that is normal practise, but should the scores be level over the two legs then the higher placed side will progress.

Therefore, it is vital for the home team to win today.

Modena are in a wonderful run of form, unbeaten in over three months, with nine wins from twelve matches. Mantova have gone in the opposite direction, after a fantastic start they were clear leaders at Christmas, in the second half of the season, they have won 17 fewer points than in the first. After 28 rounds they were 18 points clear of Modena, yet finished just two ahead, thats over a point per game worse and relegation form.

Serie B top scorer, Cristian Bucchi, is in top form for Modena scoring in the last three league games.

I have three other selections today but no time to go into detailed analysis. All stats point to the "over" in the Umea-BP game, last 6 for home side and last 4/5 from visitors, were 3+ goals, these are easily the two highest scorers in Superettan. Last year, BP had 67% of away games finishing 3+ goals.

3 points Modena -1/2 2.02 asian line
3 points Mypa -1.25 goals asian line 1.97
3 points Umea-Brommapojkarna over 2.5 goals 1.79
2 points Serbia U21 level asian line 2.19

Good Luck.
