This season promised so much .......
for Tottenham, this was the year they were going to make a big challenge to break into the top 4, hopefully at Arsenal's expense.
Things didn't go quite to plan early on and they have still not really clicked. However, they are on an unbeaten run of 7 games and are close to getting things right. Several pre season signings are now close to a return to action after suffering injuries/ illness, Didier Zokora may even be fit to return tonight.
Martin Jol is sure to rotate his squad, but even his fringe players would waltz into the Brugge side. The Belgian outfit are one of the better sides in a very poor league, but despite collecting a point in their opening match with Leverkusen, their limitations were clearly exposed.
Spurs will have one eye on the derby match with Chelsea at the weekend, but know that victory tonight will see them all but qualified from the group stage. This will be a real bonus and allow them to take things easy in the difficult away trip to Leverkusen, which comes in the middle of a busy run of fixtures later in the month, culminating in the trip to hated rivals Arsenal.
4 points Tottenham -3/4 ball asian line 1.75.
Back later.
Good Luck.
