Few bits of news......

Everton are in the "granite city" to play Aberdeen in Russel Anderson's testimonial.

The home side are putting out their strongest available side, they have started the season with two draws and put in a poor performance against Inverness at the weekend. They were lambasted for their negative approach by boss Jimmy Calderwood.

This is Everton's penultimate warm up game, Nuno Valente, Andrew Johnson , James McFadden will all start, in a strong looking line up. The Merseysiders have seriously improved the squad this summer and will be looking for a good display ahead of a concerted European challenge in the Premiership.

In Division 1, reports of Bournemouth's performance in the 3-0 home loss to Chesterfield were dire. Even their most loyal supporters were dismayed by the second half performance. The Cherries could be in for a season of struggle, their finances are not in a good state and the side lacks experience.

I was very close to advising a bet on Yeovil to beat them tonight, only the fact that I am not yet convinced about the home side and that it is a "local" derby, made me decide to pass.

Back in 15 minutes.

Good Luck.
