Robert Earnshaw missed chance after chance...

.... at Leeds on Saturday, the Welsh striker had one of those days, the ball just would not go in. On another day he could have scored four and that is no exaggeration.

He will be looking to put things right tonight when his Norwich City side host Preston North End. There is little doubt the visitors are in transition, having made the playoffs for the past two seasons, the squad has broken up and the coach has left.

Many people have doubts about the ability of his replacement, Paul Simpson, to coach at this level. They are desperate to sign some new players, especially a striker, at the moment they are overly dependent on the goals of David Nugent.

PNE only drew 0-0 at home, against an injury ravaged Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend, infact, the visitors came close to stealing the points, despite playing with 10 men for 33 minutes . Tonight they may also be without Danny Dichio and Matt Hill, who face late tests after collecting injuries on Saturday.

This is also one of the worst round trips of the season for Preston, almost 500 miles in total, on difficult roads, in midweek. The Preston defence looks slow, the ultra speedy Earnshaw and Huckerby could really give them the runaround.

Norwich fans have stayed loyal and have bought a very large number of season tickets, tonight is almost sold out. The club have shown faith in Nigel Worthington, he was given the £700k to sign Lee Croft from Manchester City last week and he will make his home debut tonight. They have just signed a big new sponsorship deal with budget airline, Flybe and everyone expects to be rewarded with 3 points tonight and at least a playoff challenge this season.

Two more suggestions to follow later.

4 points Norwich 2.0 general quote, you may find a shade bigger on the exchanges.

Good Luck.
