Darlington look set to challenge.....
...... for the Division 2 title this season, everything is in place now. They have a very nice stadium only 3 years old and the nucleus of a good squad, which ended last season just one spot off the playoffs.
The very ambitious chairman has recently made a £250k bid for Michael Bridges from Carlisle, this is a huge sum at this level. Darlington have made 6 summer signings, 3 from Championship clubs, 2 from Division 1 and one from France. They have a squad that is stronger than many Division 1 clubs.
In their two last pre season matches, thet defeated a young Middlesboro team 1-0 and Bradford (Div 1) 4-1, in a game they totally dominated.
Darlington, after several false dawns, really do look a club "on the up. Look out for them this season, but tonight they travel to Conference team York City, for a friendly they should win.
They will want to keep the good run going, seem sure to put out a very strong side and will be cheered on by a large travelling support.
There could be a good two divisions difference between these two and the quote looks very fair.
4 points Darlington -1/4 1.94 asian line.
Good Luck.
