United face City

Newcastle United travel to Norwich City, where the sides will meet in Craig Fleming's testimonial, without recent signing Damien Duff.

He will not make his debut until the weekend, when the Magpies face PSV Eindhoven at St James Park.

Both coaches have named strong squads and claim to be taking the match "seriously", by this, they mean not 3 substitutions every 15 minutes, some details and quotes below.

Newcastle squad: Steve Harper, Tim Krul, Stephen Carr, Peter Ramage, Steven Taylor, Titus Bramble, Craig Moore, Paul Huntington, Phil Cave, Matty Pattison, Nobby Solano, Scott Parker, James Milner, Nicky Butt, Amady Faye, Charles N'Zogbia, Kris Gate, Alan O'Brien, Carl Finnigan, Liam Atkin.

Striker Shola Ameobi, who has been carrying a hip injury, is rested along with the unsettled Alberto Luque and Jean-Alain Boumsong.

Nigel Worthington paid tribute to his club skipper by declaring that tonight is Craig Fleming's night. Both Norwich and Newcastle will be treating the match as a pre-season friendly, without the gimmicks and that which make some “friendly” matches less than competitive.City boss Worthington will be playing it straight for the team's first home game of the summer after matches at Fakenham and Cambridge and the two Scottish tour matches.“There won't be any toing and froing, there will be a group out there,” he said. “There might be two or three changes, but there won't be a team out for the first half and a team out for the second half. This will be a full blown pre-season game for Norwich City.”

Worthington has pretty much a full squad to choose from tonight, although teenager Rossi Jarvis has a thigh strain and joins goalkeeper Robert Green and defender Matthieu Louis-Jean on the sidelines.

I am glad that both sides will play "normally", this will help the tempo of the game, but let us not forget that this is a testimonial and the players will be looking to entertain. As is normal in these fixtures, we can expect goals, there are very many attack minded players involved and I feel the goal line has been set too low. This is my best bet of the day, but will have one more selection online a little later.

4 points over 2.75 goals Norwich-Newcastle 2.06 asian line.

Good Luck.
