Coventry look to be a team on the rise ......
..... they have a new stadium and money to spend. Coach Micky Adams, stopped the rot last year and the Sky Blues really picked up after Christmas.
In the second half of the season, they collected 38 points, the same as promoted Sheffield United and ended a fast finishing 8th. They turned the Ricoh Arena into a bit of a fortress, losing only one of their last 15 home games. Excellent record against the 3 promoted sides , drawing 1-1 with Reading and beating Watford 3-1 and Sheffield United 2-0.
Adams has not sat back and rested on his laurels in the off season, having made 11 (!) signings. The squad looks much stronger and a promotion push is on the cards. Watch out for the diminutive Jay Tabb, a recent signing from Brentford, he is a pocket dynamo and will make his mark in the Championship.
The coach is pleased with pre season and has the team ready for a quick start, these two met on the opening day 2 years ago and Coventry won 2-0, fancy something similar today.
Sure that Niall Quinn will turn Sunderland round, but it will take several new signings and a little more time, they need a period of consolidation.
4 points Coventry -1/4 2.10 betfair / asian line.
Good Luck.
