Portsmouth take a very strong side to Oxford ......

... to face the team now coached by Harry Redknapp's former assistant, Jim Smith. In fact, three of the Oxford coaching staff and two players, were formerly at Fratton Park.

Maybe there will be an "old pals act", but I do not think so. The home side are still tinkering with their line up and were a little disorganised at times, in the recent 3-1 home defeat to Chesterfield, who had only half the first team playing.

Pompey came good in their last friendly, winning 4-0 at Bournemouth, the squad tonight is at least as strong, probably stronger.

Oxford have striker Steve Basham back from injury, they cannot take too many chances with him, as they are very short of frontmen. They also have a much bigger game coming up on Tuesday, at home to Manchester United.

This is likely to be Ronaldo's "return" and will have huge media interest. The match is virtually sold out, the crowd will be 3-4 times bigger than for tonight and along with next week's first league game, will be a much bigger priority for Oxford and their small squad.

The Pompey side will be selected from this squad: Kiely, Jordan, Duffy, Pamarot, Primus, O'Brien, Stefanovic, Taylor, Hughes, Davis, Wilson, Songo'o, Thompson, Todorov, LuaLua.

Small price, but have to side with the Premiership club.

3 points Portsmouth -1.25 goals asian line 1.80.

Good Luck.
