WSOP
IVAN DEMIDOV OUTRIGHT
Down to just two at the WSOP Main Event final table and my long term fancy, Russian Ivan Demidov, trails Peter Eastgate of Denmark by approx 21.7m in chips. However, to put that in perspective, of the total chips in play, they hold around 42%- 58% respectively and with the blinds at 300-600k , they still have plenty of poker left to play. Just one decent sized pot would see the positions reversed and I still favour Demidov, who incredibly , also made the final table at the WSOPE last month, taking third spot and £335k, I will not hold my breath for another player to complete this particular double in the same year ! The winner here is guaranteed $9.15m in prize money alone and endorsements will see that number soar, the second placed finisher would have to "make do" with just under $6m.
Watching pros have found Demidov very difficult to read and that, allied to the experience collected in London, is just enough to suggest a small bet in what could develope into a classic heads up encounter. Play is set to start at 10pm Vegas time and can be followed via chip count graphics and audio commentary on this Bluff magazine link. It is a little slow to load on some browsers, but will eventually open.
4.5 points Demidov to win 2.26 exchanges.
Good Luck.
