DIVISION 1 ...........

CHELTENHAM TOWN - WALSALL

I wrote a little about Town boss Martin Allen on the blog earlier this week, which you can view on this link. His team are in the bottom four, two points from safety with a tough sequence of fixtures coming up over the holiday period. I know quite a lot about his mindset and that he will really have his team really fired up today, they will have taken a lot of confidence from the win at Orient last week, who were previously unbeaten in seven. Town are seeking a fourth straight win and have tightened up considerably, with four clean sheets in six outings. Allen is not a great tactician, but his defence is always well organised and his form of man management "skills" are perfect for players at this level, he will instill confidence in them and makes the training sessions, where he works players hard, fun. The visitors have two very key players out today, with the spine of the team missing, if that wa s not enough, the club have suffered with a virus this week. There is little mention on their website of this, or the team news for today ,which, I believe, is significant, my understanding, is that many of the squad were affected. I also saw that for a reserve (B) team fixture on Thursday, they almost named a youth team (losing 5-1), which probably means that many of the fringe players are on standby for today . Home win.

6.5 points Cheltenham -1/4 ball 2.04 asian line.

Good Luck.
