Wow ! This is as tough as Augusta has ever been, just 3 players under par and conditions are about to get even more challenging. The course is extremely dry and it will be cold today, with the temperate some 11-12 degrees below what we could normally expect.
So what is likely to occur under such conditions ? The cream will rise to the top.
Tiger Woods is 5 strokes off the lead and was in the water twice yesterday, but I would be astonished if he were not in the shake up, come Sunday evening. He relishes these type of conditions and whatever trouble he finds himself in, has the shots to keep the damage minimal. He has to form part of our staking plan.
Regular readers will know that Geoff Ogilvy is a player I hold in high esteem and just 3 off the lead, he is sure to be involved in the business end. Only going to make a tiny wager on him, so no need to go into great detail.
Just a quick word about Ernie Els, who missed his first major cut this century, the Big Easy has been a giant of the game, but it would take a brave man to back him at present.
With only 10 shots seperating the entire field, there will be plenty of players making big moves today, but mental toughness will be a key requirement. Jim Furyk is a scrapper and able to grind out par golf, which may not leave him too far away from a treasured Green Jacket. His driving stats have been exceptional, hitting 72% of greens ( tournament average 49%) and 82% of fairways (63%) and he is a massive looking price. Furyk must come into the equation.
The US Masters website has been greatly improved this year, with lots of videos and live action to watch, it can be found here....http://www.masters.org/en_US/index.html .

The Furyk top 10 price has dropped to 2.10/2.12 as I typed this, the odds are still acceptable and may rise again if you wait a little, up to you.
