Kompany and de Jong are still out for the visitors, Chelsea are very close to full strength, really, only Joe Cole is unavailable and Carvalho, Anelka and Michael Essien are set to return to league action. The Blues are back in form and are a much better team when Carvalho and Essien play, Liverpool's win at Old Trafford has opened up the title race again and three points today will see Chelsea return to second place and close the gap on United to four points. It would still take an almighty collapse by Sir Alex's side to lose the championship race, but surely Chelsea will want to put as much pressure on them as possible.
Home side have had a full 48 hours extra rest after the midweek european game and have a fantastic record against City, who have not scored at Stamford Bridge, in almost a decade.
