BLUE SQUARE NORTH
HINCKLEY UNITED- DROYLSDEN
I am very keen on the visitors tonight. They are an extremely tough team to beat and are closing in on a play-off spot, they trail Stalybridge, currently in the final post season spot and whom they host next week, by seven points, with two games in hand. You might remember Droylsden from their FA Cup run, they played eleven(!) games in the competition without losing, but were thrown out, for fielding an ineligible player in the tie with Chesterfield. They suffered something of a hangover from that blow, as you might expect, they felt hard done by, to say nothing of losing out on a lot of income and a glamour tie at Ipswich Town.
The visitors arrive on the back of two fine performances, a 4-1 road win at Vauxhall Motors and a 2-0 home defeat of fellow promotion chasers Alfreton Town, who were suffering only their second away loss of the season. The margin of victory could easily have been greater and with the addition of a couple of new signings, Droylsden look to have a squad capable of ending the season very strongly and with the FA Cup fiasco, finally out of their minds.
Hinckley are not in such good shape, they did bounce back from a frightful 7-1 hammering at Stalybridge last midweek, with a very hard fought 2-1 home win over Fleetwood at the weekend and are actually level on points with tonight's opponent, albeit having played two games more. But the mood at the home club is in stark contrast, they are having financial problems, like many clubs at these levels and are under a transfer embargo imposed by the league. They do not have the biggest squad and were injury hit for the Stalybridge game, but even so, to concede six times in the last 22 minutes was soul destroying and this, their third start in six days, might leave them further stretched this evening.
7.5 points Droylsden level ball 1.92 asian line..... now 1.76
Good Luck.
